We are pleased to announce the formal opening of the Southeast Asian Youth Astronomy Network (SEAYAN)! The network is now officially welcoming individual members, astronomy clubs, and core team applicants from across the region. This marks the beginning of an open, collaborative community built to support young astronomers throughout Southeast Asia.
SEAYAN was established to empower young people by creating a space for shared resources, cross-border collaboration, and hands-on engagement with astronomy. Research in STEM education consistently highlights the importance of early peer communities, mentorship, and accessible learning environments. SEAYAN seeks to embody these principles and extend them across national boundaries.
Individual Members
Students and youth who wish to explore astronomy, participate in programmes, and join a supportive regional community.
Clubs and Societies
School and community clubs interested in regional collaboration, shared events, telescope nights, and joint outreach projects.
Core Team Applicants
Dedicated youth who aspire to shape SEAYAN’s development. The core team will guide programme design, manage partnerships, and uphold the network’s long-term vision.
Members will have opportunities to:
Participate in regional workshops, observing sessions, and virtual learning
Contribute to cross-country projects that build scientific and leadership skills
Support outreach efforts that make astronomy more accessible to youth across Southeast Asia
SEAYAN’s aim is to bring together motivated individuals, regardless of background or available resources, and create a community that encourages curiosity, collaboration, and growth.
